Who We Are

Alexander David McMath is the founder of Atelier Strategy & Development. He believes that advocacy works best when analysis, message discipline, and operational judgment reinforce one another. A former U.S. Army military intelligence officer, MIT graduate, and PMP-certified project manager, he brings experience in high-stakes pattern analysis, strategic communications, and information design to campaigns, public affairs, and stakeholder environments where credibility matters and waste is costly.

Mr. McMath has built AS&D to approach advocacy goals as execution problems as much as persuasion problems. AS&D uses evidence, iteration, and first-principles thinking to help clients act with greater precision in contested public environments.

Our Approach

AS&D believes campaigns and public affairs require a "Theory of Victory" to drive outcomes in systems of information, trust, and action. Good-looking communications is beside the point. What matters is meeting audience conditions with messaging that provides agency to key issues.

AS&D helps candidates and public-facing organizations understand the people whose decisions drive outcomes, find what resonates with them, and reflect insights consistently across fundraising, voter contact, and stakeholder engagement.
